Alan Shain has over 30 years of experience in the performing arts. His career spans stand-up comedy, theatre, storytelling, and dance – all specific to the representation of the lived experience of disability. His performing career has taken him across North America, Australia, England, Bermuda and Taiwan. He has toured with Yuk Yuk’s Komedy Klub, appeared at the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, been featured twice on Moving On, CBC TV, and performed numerous times at the Fourth Stage NAC with Ottawa Storytellers. Alan is also one of the co-founders of Propeller Dance.

Madeleine Hall is a Gatineau-based theatre artist specializing in clown and physical theatre. She is a core member of the Aplombusrhombus collective whose creations have included Ethel (undercurrents 2021), Cardinal (undercurrents 2020) and Cicada (subDevision 2019). She also works as a creative arts therapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor in private practice.

John Turner has been performing, teaching and directing theatre for the past 37 years. He is best known as the “Smoot” half of the award winning Canadian clown duo Mump & Smoot. He was also founder and Artistic Director of The Manitoulin Conservatory for Creation and Performance from 2002 – 2020 (aka. The Clown Farm). He now coaches, teaches, directs and performs across the country. Emily Pearlman is an artist and educator based out of Almonte. She has co-created over 60 performance works in collaboration with theatre makers, dancers, musicians, audio-makers, schools, and communities and is particularly partial to events that get people outdoors.  Undercurrents dramaturgy credits include Sound (Skeleton Key), 12 (2.0) (100 Watt), Monstrous (Calalou), Burnt (Norah Paton), Far & Near & Hear (Thunk),and Ethel (aplombus rhombus). She has also worked dramaturgically as Artistic Associate with Theatre 4.669,  Festival Dramaturg for Fresh Meat, and Creator Incubator Facilitator at the The Ottawa Children’s Festival. She has an MFA from Simon Fraser and teaches theatre at U of O and Carleton.

Patrice Forbes has been working on the creative and technical side of theatre production for over two decades. Designing sets, props and costumes comes as second nature, as Patrice specializes in textiles and visual design. A passion for practical effects and prosthetics, Patrice tries to meld these elements into their works whenever possible. Patrice produces their own theatre company Dead Unicorn Ink where they focus on creating works that appeal to popular culture and film-style genres, while mixing in adaptation of classical literature. Patrice has been nominated for numerous awards, including Outstanding Direction, New Work Production and a CAFTCAD award, they have also been a three time award winner for Outstanding Design at Ottawa Fringe and Pride Awards in Orlando and Ottawa.Patrice wants theatre that is visually engaging and awakens the imagination of the audience. They strive to keep entertainment in the forefront of their design process.

Nick Di Gaetano is a comedian and musician whose career includes clown shows, puppet shows, improv shows, shows for children, short films, bands, voice overs, music direction, sound design and tons of original music for stage, screen and stereos. He has a degree in Audio Engineering and teaches Sound/Son at the university of Ottawa. Jenny Hazelton is a performer, director, and teacher who works primarily in clown, puppetry and physical theatre. She is the founder and artistic director of One North Clown and Creation, and the co-founder of Hoquet/Hiccup. She taught acting, mime and physical theatre creation at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario for 12 years, holds an MA in Collaborative Theatre Making with Frantic Assembly, has trained at École International de Théȃtre Jacques Lecoq, as well as at the Mime Centrum Berlin, training in Meyerhold's system of Biomechanics. She has trained, assisted and taught extensively in Clown and Bouffon with John Turner of Canada's horror clown duo Mump and Smoot. Jenny has traveled extensively to work with both Canadian and international students in several intercultural theatre exchanges directing and teaching traditional acting technique, mask, mime and clown across Canada, the United Kingdom, Denmark and Taiwan.
